Here's the orginal damage. Balsa planking is destroyed about 4" forward and 2"rear.
Inside after balsa planking is removed. Remove the plywood in one piece and use as a pattern to cut out another backing. Use 3/8 ply wood!
Here's 3/8 plywood in place, after orginal wood removed and formers sanded smooth.
Clamp is "pushing" hardwood reinfoR/Cements aganist formers with epoxy sets.
Replace the balsa planking, but be sure the "damage" is rectangular, for easy "fitment".
Damage balsa removed forward, and squared.
Balsa planking is replaced, and wood filler used to fill in. Then sanded smooth and Balsarite applied to increase the adhesion of the covering.
Here's the repair completed. Landing gear is stronger that the orginal mount. If you bend the gear, please remove to bend the gear back in place.
